Organisations

When the organisation needs to shift, not just the individuals in it

Advisory, diagnosis, and embedded support for leadership teams and EHS functions navigating genuine change in how they approach safety.

The question is not whether your safety culture needs to change

Organisations that are standing still on safety are moving backwards. The operating environment changes. Regulations tighten. Teams turn over. What worked five years ago may not be holding anymore.

The harder question is: where do you start? And how do you create change that actually embeds, rather than a programme that runs its course and leaves everything the same?

That is the work. It starts with an honest assessment of where you are, and it requires leaders who are willing to examine their own role in the culture before they ask anything of their teams.

This work is for you if

  • You have had a significant incident, or a near miss that revealed something systemic
  • Your safety indicators are flat or declining despite continued investment
  • You are preparing for a significant operational change, merger, or restructure
  • Leadership behaviour and safety culture are not aligned, and you know it
  • Your EHS team is not getting traction with line management
  • You want to move beyond compliance and do not know what that looks like in practice
What we do together

The work takes different forms

Every engagement starts with a discovery conversation. The shape of the work depends on what you are facing and what kind of support will actually move things.

Diagnosis

Safety Culture Assessment

An honest picture of where your organisation is right now. What leaders believe versus what the data shows. Where the gaps are between stated values and actual behaviour. What your people are not saying.

  • Structured conversations with leaders, managers, and frontline teams
  • Review of existing safety data and incident patterns
  • Clear diagnostic report with prioritised findings
  • Foundation for any advisory engagement that follows

  • Can include attendance at leadership meetings and safety reviews
  • Typically a 6 to 12-month engagement

The framework

C.H.A.N.G.E.™

A structured approach for organisations navigating significant change in safety culture, leadership model, or operating approach.

C

Clarity about where you are

Honest diagnosis before strategy. Understanding the current state with precision, including what leaders do not want to see.

H

Humans who need to lead it

Change does not happen through systems. It happens through people. Identifying who needs to behave differently and what they need to make that possible.

A

Actions that build momentum

Small, visible, repeated actions that demonstrate intent. Building the evidence that change is real before asking people to trust it.

N

Narrative that holds the work together

The story that helps people understand why this change matters, what role they play, and how this is different from the last initiative they were asked to support.

G

Grounding in what works

Building on existing strengths rather than treating everything as broken. Change that starts from what is already working is faster and more durable.

E

Embedding for the long term

Making the new behaviour the default. Moving from change as a project to change as a permanent shift in how the organisation works.

How it works

Every engagement starts with a conversation, not a proposal

1

Discovery

A 60-minute conversation to understand your situation. What you are trying to achieve, what has been tried already, and what is getting in the way. Marieke listens before she recommends.

2

Assessment

Depending on what the discovery reveals, the next step may be a more structured assessment of your safety culture, your leadership capability, or the EHS function's operating model.

3

Proposal

A clear proposal for the work: what it involves, what it will take from you, what it will produce, and how long it will run. No ambiguity.

4

The work

Advisory, workshops, facilitation, coaching, or a combination. Shaped around what will actually create the change you need.

5

Review and continuation

At key milestones, we assess what has shifted and what the next phase requires. Engagements evolve based on what is happening, not just what was planned.

Start a conversation
